Randy Jones

Founder/CEO/Chair

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and a lifelong native, Randy Jones credits his faith in God and indelible impression for what would be his "life's work" to serve. Jones attended South Division High School and studied Kinesiology at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His professional experience includes working as a cross country and track & field coach at Nicolet High School, South Milwaukee High School, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Milwaukee Area Technical College. He was the Men’s & Women's Head track & field and Cross County Coach. Voted Men & Women NJCAA Coach of the Year He was voted Vice President of the USA Track & Field-Wisconsin Association for three two-year terms and was elected as the President of the USA Track & Field- Wisconsin Association for a term, but he did not run for re-election. Jones was a 2016 nonpartisan candidate for District 7 of the Milwaukee City Council. He was defeated in the primary election on February 16, 2016.

In 2017, Alderman Khalif Rainey appointed Jones to serve on the City of Milwaukee Safety & Civic Commission where Jones served as Subcommittee Co-Chair of the Reducing the Demand For Drugs and Mental Health Committee. Commissioner Jones Also served as Traffic Safety, Sanitation & Litter Subcommittee Chair and a member of Milwaukee County Traffic Safety Commission. Jones is also and Small Business Owner, Developer, Contractor, Realtor, and Program Manager, Sports & Recreation.

Brenda Wesley

Brenda Wesley, Advocate/Writer/Speaker/Biography, In response to troubling signs of growing mental health challenges in the African American community, in 2007 Brenda Wesley developed an African American Outreach Program; ASK (Access, Support & Knowledge). To lead her program she reached out and formed a partnership with NAMI Greater Milwaukee (National Alliance on Mental Illness). ASK is designed to educate the community and work to provide access to care for those who need it the most.

Brenda, a trained mental health education facilitator, has conducted numerous ASK presentations throughout Milwaukee. Brenda’s unique perspective is based in first-hand experience: two of her closest family members live with mental illness. She has become an advocate for those without a voice. After fourteen years as the Outreach and Education Director for (NAMI) National Alliance on Mental Illness Greater Milwaukee, she left to start her own mental health consulting agency Pasch & Wesley.

Wesley continues to live and work in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with her family. She continues to devote her time and energy by educating the community. She sits on various community committees as part of her advocacy work. Since 2014 she has served on the Milwaukee County Mental Health Board. She graduated from the Mosaic Milwaukee Partnership Program, which engages leaders of various cultures and backgrounds to build trust, friendship, and communication. Brenda is a 2009 graduate of the Emerge Wisconsin Program, which trains Democratic women candidates. Because of her advocacy work, Brenda is an award-winning advocate. She was awarded the 2007 TLS (Transitional Living Services Advocate of the Year Award. Brenda received the first Andy Werlein “Advocate of the year award from Mental Health American of Wisconsin, 2013 Multi Cultural Outreach Award from the National Alliance on Mental Illness, 2016 Public Service Award from the National Association of Social Workers and she was recognized by the State Assembly and received the 2015-16 Hometown Hero Award. She was awarded the 2016-17 Heart award from Disability Rights. One of her greatest accomplishments was receiving a proclamation from Congresswoman Gwen Moore in 2015-16.

She does public speaking and has done many presentations/trainings and workshops as part of her community work, speaking on behalf of those with Mental Illness. She is a certified facilitator for CIT/CIP Crisis Intervention Team Training. She has presented for the Wisconsin Kidney Foundation Women of the World Series, Milwaukee Medical College, Milwaukee Public Schools and many civic groups, parents groups, churches, etc.

Brenda is a successful play write and director, of Pieces: In My Own Voice, an innovative, evidence-based theatrical production that depicts what it is like to live with a mental health diagnosis. The production has been so successful she adapted the production to reach out to youth.
